Sent January 10, 2026

Hello,

This is Dr. Bailey with the first bi-weekly Superintendent’s Wilson Warrior Update of 2026. I hope all of our students and staff have returned from the break recharged and ready to tackle the rest of the winter season.

At the elementary level, students left before break with the holiday buzz. Our students participated in sing-alongs, learned about holidays in other cultures, and felt the joy of the season. Students at each school were full of cheer after being entertained by our high school band and chorus. The owner of The Hair Den in Wilson Borough provided free haircuts for several students at Avona and we want to thank them for their generosity. At Wilson Borough, the Holiday Shoppe was the place to be, allowing students to prepare for holiday giving. The Holiday Bazaar provided the same shopping experience for students at Williams Township. Most notably, the conductor from the Polar Express didn't let bad weather stop his appearance on our last day and visited WTES classrooms virtually.

WAIS, came back from break energized and engaged in every way. Students began practicing for the annual Spelling Bee Competition and six students were recognized as the December Warriors of the Month. On January 8th, students and staff participated in the College/Military/Vocational Recognition Day. This is an incredible opportunity for students to learn about their future education and career options after high school. Also, congratulations to our Intermediate wrestlers that placed in the Eric Koller Memorial Tournament.

Our high school students have returned to school after a slew of outstanding performances all December. Seven members of Future Business Leaders of America competed in four business related areas and qualified for the State Competition. Our theatre students dove right back into practices after the fall play and are hard at work getting ready for the Spring Musical. Winter sports are in full swing and our athletes are competing hard on the courts, mats, and in the pool. Hopefully, you get an opportunity to come out and watch them compete.

Finally, I want to share that our staff came together to celebrate the life of Jami Silfies. Thank you for your support of her wonderful family and taking time to remember such an incredible colleague. Her life reminds us of the wonderful impact we can have on our students and the many other people in our lives.

There are so many wonderful things happening each and every day in our schools that make it an incredible week to be a Warrior.

Thank you and have a wonderful weekend.

H. Bailey
