Sent November 21, 2025

Hello,

This is Dr. Bailey with the bi-weekly Superintendent’s Wilson Warrior Update. On Nov. 11th, students across the district paid tribute to our soldiers for Veterans Day. They marched in parades, listened to presentations, attended events all over the community, and performed military musical selections. We hope all of your community veterans truly felt appreciated this year.

WBES was featured in the news this week for Mr. Woodward’s pickleball program and JB Hunt Transport company recognized Mrs. Fritz as an outstanding teacher. Students in second grade had some unforgettable visitors, with the ponies from Equilibrium and a lunch time Farmers Market was the buzz of student conversation.

WTES student council organized the Cereal Box Donation Dominoes event, collecting hundreds of boxes of all kinds of cereal for local food banks. We are very proud of WTES students helping families that may be less fortunate. Tonight is the annual WTES PTA Skate Night at Bushkill Park.

At AVONA, students who had perfect attendance for the first marking period enjoyed a special breakfast or recess with the principal. In recognition of Native American Heritage Month, students decorated a pair of moccasins for Rock Your Mocks day and fourth-grade students participated in a Wildland Skills program presented by the Museum of Indian Culture.

Students and families donated more than 300 items to contribute to the LINCS Thanksgiving meal bags. Student Council members participated in assembling the bags.

Students at the Intermediate School are getting prepared for their annual Spelling Bee, while the band is focused on getting ready for the winter concert. One amazing 5th grade artist was a PA winner for the drug-free calendar contest through the Attorney General’s Office and will be recognized in Harrisburg. Tonight, 5th & 6th grade students participated in the school-wide hide and seek contest racing to locate as many hidden teachers as possible.

The high school’s new Aevidum club 'got the word out' to draw attention to fighting depression and suicide ideation. The Scholastic Scrimmage team had another big win, advancing them onto round 3. This is the furthest our team has made it in over 40 years. Over 124 students were recognized for perfect attendance and 148 for honor roll during marking period one. The Wilson Buddies club continues to create awesome opportunities for their classmates in so many ways. Finally, the Choral Cabaret entertained the masses with showtunes that everyone could enjoy.

There are so many wonderful things happening each and every day in our schools that make it an incredible week to be a Warrior.

Thank you and have a wonderful weekend.

H. Bailey
