Sent May 8, 2026:

Hello,

Hello. This is Dr. Bailey with the bi-weekly Superintendent’s Wilson Warrior Update. At Avona, students had a fun-filled week of events including: the “Tattoo a Teacher” fundraiser, an “end of PSSA’s” glow party, and the annual Fun Run. As a culmination of Allyship April, Truth and Light Media treated students to a theatrical production of the story of John Henry, highlighting determination, grit, and hard work despite adversity.

Author Daniel Jude Miller visited Williams Township this week to share his writing process, some of his favorite books, and teach a drawing lesson for some students. The Fun Run occurred on Thursday and second graders concluded their embryology program, watching their chicken eggs hatch with the Northampton County 4H Educator program. In addition, Allyship April ended with the theme “Choosing Brave Actions”, promoting helping others even when it is difficult.

Wilson Borough welcomed over 130 families to experience their Art Show, Science Fair, Book Fair, and science show from the Nutty Scientist. This was a truly incredible turnout for this event. Fourth grade experienced a field trip to the Iron Pigs and third grade visited Lost Caverns. Also, some of our amazing students at WBES competed in the Special Olympics. Congratulations to all of them for putting their best foot forward and representing Wilson with Pride.

Some students at the Intermediate School also participated in the Special Olympics, with the band performing and students forming a tunnel to cheer them on as they got onto their buses. Allies at their finest! The 4th & 5th grade band also had an outstanding music performance at the high school, entertaining a packed house. Students participated in the Mock Trial event and 7th-grade students took their field trip to an Iron Pigs game.

At the high school, 21 new students were inducted into the prestigious National Honor Society. The Key Club hosted Earth Day cleanup and their final blood drive of the year. The jazz band had an incredible performance at Easton’s Jazz Competition receiving their 5th “Outstanding” rating of the season and won several additional awards. The long awaited Superstars event was held with students and staff competing in dizzy bat, tug-of-war, dodgeball, and various other activities. Also, congratulations to all of our student athletes concluding their seasons in tennis, baseball, softball, and track. Special recognition to the students who competed at Colonial League Championships and those moving on to Districts.

Finally, this week was Teacher Appreciation Week and we want to recognize all that you do for the children of this community. As you can see, there are so many wonderful things happening each and every day in our schools that make it an incredible time to be a Warrior.

Thank you and have a wonderful weekend.
