So much information, so little

The following guidelines will help you search for
information more productively:
I.
Getting Started
Know what you are looking
for before you begin so that you will recognize it when you find it.
Choose unique, specific keywords.
Use results to refine search terms.
Don't rely on just one search tool.
II.
Use Search Engines
Search engines
have a variety of ways for you to refine and control your searches. Some of them
offer menu systems for this. Others require you to use special commands as part
of your query.
III.
Search Querying
+
use a '+' immediately in front of any word you want to require to be in
the document.
Example: Hawaii+hotels+oceanfront
-
use a '-' immediately in front of any word you do not want to be in the
document.
Example: depression-great
" "
use double quotation marks to identify a phrase. A phrase is two or more words
that must appear
in exactly the same sequence with no other words in between.
Example: "School dress code"
